WHERE CAN YOU USUALLY BE FOUND AT 2AM?
I’d love to have a more exciting answer, but at 2am I'm 100% asleep.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR AESTHETIC?
Minimalistic, soft and earthy.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE THROUGH YOUR WORK?
Behind every artwork I’ve done is my personal story of how it came to life and I put a lot of emotions put into every piece. However I believe that it doesn’t really matter, I think that it’s completely up to the viewer, every person comes from a different past and every artwork is going to make each person feel differently. I want to make space for that, let the interpretation be completely free for everyone.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE CREATIVE BLOCKS OR MOMENTS WHEN INSPIRATION DOESN’T SEEM TO COME?
Honestly, if it’s not flowing the best thing to do in my opinion is to stop, and get back to it the next day. Some days it comes so easily, and other days it just doesn’t work at all - that's okay. Usually if I try to push myself, I end up disliking the work anyway. It’s important to remember that being creative is a practice, the more you do it the easier and faster it comes to you. So even on bad days, to do a little is good!
WHAT’S THE MOST BIZARRE PIECE OF ART OR DESIGN YOU’VE EVER CREATED, AND WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND IT?
Maybe all my pieces are a bit bizarre, the weirder the better in my opinion.
WHAT’S YOUR GO TO SONG OR GENRE TO WORK TO?
Sault - Wildfires.
WHERE DOES YOUR MAIN SOURCE OF INSPIRATION COME FROM?
Nature, jewellery, music and emotions.
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT NEVER FAILS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY OR BRINGS A SMILE TO YOUR FACE?
My friends and surfing, even better when they are combined.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST DREAM?
I’m a big dreamer and that is probably what’s led me to where I am. I think you have to be very courageous, a bit delusional and have a burning desire to create to make it as an artist. I think my current dream is to one day have my own art gallery, maybe one day somewhere in Australia. Seems quite far away right now but I also think if your dreams don’t scare you they aren't big enough.
WHAT’S ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’D GIVE TO ASPIRING ARTISTS?
That literally every artist ever has been an aspiring artist at one point, just keep going.
